      Hi Jessica!
I have donated to Jeans for genes in the past and I have done many fundraising events for them.
Jeans for Genes is a fantastic charity that provides care and support for children with rare and sometimes life threatening genetic disorders. It is great because it donates to lots of charities and also raises a lot of awareness about genetic disorders – it’s also great because everyone can get involved. Why don’t you suggest running a jeans for genes day in your school?

      Hi Jessica, thanks for asking.

If I am lucky enough to win I would like to donate the money to the charity Jeans for Genes as it supports all the disorders that I am involved with in diagnosing everyday at my work. Some of our patients are even part of the groups that they support. They also support the production of educational resources (we have links with Nowgen who are involved in this) including videos which you can watch for free (see http://www.genesareus.org/). Let your teacher know about these and maybe you can watch them in class?? I would like this money to go towards making more of these and this would also raise awareness of I’m a Scientist so hopefully more schools and scientists will get involved.

If your school runs a jeans for genes day it means you don’t have to wear your school uniform – can’t be better than that surely?!!
