So i look at how a protein that reads DNA, zooming along it like a car on a road, crashes into a damged section of DNA, like a big pothole in the road.

the protein cant go round the damage and gets stuck at it. So what i look for in a ‘crash’ is how the crashed protein is deal with. it seems like it gets chewed up, allowing the DNA pothole to be fixed.
