I think it depends on what type of tumour it is and where it is in the brain. Sometimes the tumour is buried too deep for sugery to be done to remove it so they use chemotherapy or radiotheraopy to get rid of it. Sometimes they can do surgery and they can remove it all with no problem. I think it also depends on whether it is cancerous (malignant) or non-cancerous (benign). Cancerous tumours often cause more damage than non cancerous ones and are more difficult to treat.
Brain cancer is a difficult one to treat, but treatment is successful for some. About 15% of brain cancer patients are alive five years after their cancer is diagnosed. Not a fantastically high figure unfortunately, but it is still a chance.
