erm a lot. just in one day 100 million red blood cells are remade. some organs need a lot of new cells, like
the gut and blood, but others dont change over very often at all, like in the brain.

Red blood cells are the most abundant in the body – as Marcus says 100 million or more are made a day!

Our largest organ is the skin, and this also turns over a lot of cells in a year, a day and even a minute- 40,000 a minute! That is a lot – weighing 3.6Kg of skin cells lost in a year! Yuck!

So, basically – millions and billions! too many to count I should think!

Interesting question!! Far too many to count – I think the number would have a lot of zeros at the end! Just think of how many cells we have, and how many types there are. Then how many replicate each day and multiply that by 365. I don’t think I can even comprehend a number that big! 🙂

All the cells in our bodies were made from a single fertilised egg in just nine months don’t forget.
