I think science is very important…. although I am biased as science keeps me in a job! 🙂
I think many people forget that science controls the world that we live in, from your mobile phone, to night and day, the fact that we can see things, the delicious food that we eat, how we get to school and work. Science and technology have had an impact on many things. From when you get up in the morning to when you go to bed at night, if you looked at everything you used or needed and thought about whether science was involved in it – I think you would be quite surprised!

Very! As Louise has said it is involved with almost everything that you do everyday or not whether you realise it or not! We wouldn’t be evolving like we are without science!

Definitely! Science is vital. Can you imagine a world without the obvious science things like hospitals and medicine or engines? or without the less obvious things like how bacteria are used to make cheeses and yogurts? Science is important for the big things and the small things that you might not realise 🙂

Very. not just for scientists to do the work. But also for everyone else to be able to understand some of the results. Particularly politicians and business people need to understand what the science means in order to make new laws and policies (eg climate change, renewable energy, GM crops, gene therapy, abortion, etc) and to make commercial products and new inventions based on the scientific data.
