No absolutely not! They are my pets and I love them very much! They are very greedy and make lots of noise. Their names are Spike and Smudge. Spike is very fat and eats most of the food and Smudge is very fast and agile! Do you have any pets?

I don’t have guinea pigs, I have a dog and I don’t experiment on him…except to teach him tricks and see if he likes them! If that counts!

No, never done, or even read, about experiments in guinea pigs.

Guinea pigs used to be used because they were seen as being cleaner than other rodents ( back in the 1800s). Then they were the first animals in space!

They tend not to be used anymore because scientists now mainly use mice.

I don’t have guinea pigs, but I do have pet cats! I haven’t actually read any research done on guinea pigs, like Marcus says, I think they are used less and less now, if at all and mice are normally used instead.
