Maybe the computer chip. They are found in mobile phones, televisions, e-book readers, car engines, barcode scanners, aeroplanes, calculators, satellites, guided weapons, medical scanners, cybernetic medical devices, washing machines, surveillance systems, rockets….oh yes, and computers.

I think it depends completely on who you are and where your priorities lie! Adam is right with the computer chip though, there is one in almost everything electrical! If we didn’t have them we would really be stuck and wouldn’t be part of this competition today! 🙂

I agree with Adam on the computer chip front – although my mum always says she couldn’t live without the dishwasher and my sister says she couldn’t live without her straighteners! So Louise is right too!

It’s not quite an item but I would say that it is the human brain. Without the powerful human brain, using human investigated powers we would never have any of the things that the others have mentioned! On the electrical front I couldn’t live without my mobile- I don’t know how I survived without one!
